What is under the rug?

Materials:

Different objects and two rugs/ tea-towels/newspapers.

Instructions:

The teacher places five-ten small objects under two different rugs which are placed at two ends of the room. The objects could be an eraser, a cube, a watch, a photo, a candle etc. The group is divided in two and has a rug each. The students take turns to choose an object from under the rug before running over to their partner to describe it. They are not allowed to say the name of the object. Instead of physical objects you could use notes with words or pictures that need to be described. The activity has a focus on description and adjectives which could be from native or foreign languages.
